Dr. Scott Tesoro caught the fitness bug early when he joined his first gym at 13 years old in the Canarsie neighborhood of Brooklyn, NY. He was hooked! In college Scott made his first foray into professional fitness training. He decided to make his passion for health and fitness into a career, earning his Doctorate of Chiropractic from Western States Chiropractic College in 1994. Dr. Scott moved to Carbondale the same year and opened Sopris Chiropractic with an emphasis on sports medicine. No longer an urban gym rat, Dr. Scott embraced skiing, hiking, and especially road and mountain biking, completing 100-mile endurance events such as The Leadville 100 and Vail 100.
Scott was one of the earliest CrossFitters in the valley, completing the second Crossfit Elements class offered at RFCF. He earned his Level 1 in 2012 and has applied his medical expertise to teach specialty courses in mobility, nutrition, and injury prevention at valley boxes. He is the go-to doc for CrossFitters in the valley. In 2013 Dr. Scott was invited to work as a doctor at the CrossFit Regionals and CrossFit Games—it was a professional highlight to work with the fittest athletes in the world throughout the competitions.
